About Us
Chapter Information

Epsilon Phi chapter was founded at Northwest Missouri State University on May 8th, 1971. We constantly strive to grow our membership, follow our national objectives, spread music throughout the community, and connect with other sisters around the nation.

We are a small chapter of usually less than thirty members, but we are strong. We have regular sisterly bonding time as well as weekly chapter meetings and bi-weekly executive board meetings. Many of our sisters are music majors, but we have been expanding outside of the department to find more women who still have the same passion for music.

National History

Sigma Alpha Iota was founded on June 12th, 1903 at the University School of Music in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Our seven founders included Mary Storrs Andersen, Elizabeth Campbell, Frances Caspari, Nora Crane Hunt, Leila Farlin Laughlin, Georgina Potts, and Minnie Davis Sherrill.

Members of SAI are active in music at their schools and in their communities, which is how we are all bonded together. We take pride as well as responsibility in being leaders in the pursuit of music creation, performance, and scholarship.
Music is a precious gift to be shared by all.
